This classical tour drives you through traditional fishing villages to the majesty of Ancient Ruins of the Classical era. Starting from Athens, you travel through Corinth, Mycenae, and Epidaurus. Included in this tour, are your two overnight stays in hotels, entrance fees, breakfast and dinner on a daily basis.
First stop is the Corinth Canal, a marvel of the modern era. Soon after, you will visit the archaeological site and theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its unparalleled acoustics, and then to Nafplio, the first capital of Greece for a look at this beautiful quaint town. Later on you will drive to Mycenae where you will visit the archaeological site. Shortly afterwards, you depart for Olympia, through central Peloponnese, driving through the cities of Megalopolis, and Tripoli. At Olympia you will have dinner and stay in a hotel overnight.
In the morning, you will visit the archaeological site and the museum of Olympia. You will then drive via Patras to Rio across the channel to Antirio on the new suspension bridge, considered the longest and most modern in Europe. Soon after you will arrive in Nafpaktos and then continue to Delphi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Arriving in Delphi, you will visit the Ancient Sanctuary of Apollo, and the Delphi Museum where you may witness amongst other artefacts the unique statue of the Bronze Charioteer. Afterwards, you will venture through the sacred path to the Athenian Treasury and the Temple of Apollo. Delphi is truly a unique experience, and it is justifiably considered a National Treasure. The tour returns to Athens late in the afternoon.
